How Nimbus AI Units Work
Nimbus AI Units measure your use of Airstudio's Nimbus AI features. Each AI request uses a number of units based on the amount and complexity of the work, and on the AI model that does it. Simple questions and requests use fewer units. More complex tasks, such as analyzing larger amounts of data, creating detailed reports, or performing multi-step work, use more.
Nimbus supports several AI models with different levels of intelligence. Faster, lighter models handle everyday questions well and use fewer units. More advanced models are better at deeper reasoning and complex work, and use more units for the same type of question.
Think of Nimbus AI Units like usage credits: the more work Nimbus does, and the more advanced the model doing it, the more units a request uses.
For example, with the standard intelligence model:
- Simple question or lookup: under 1 unit
- More detailed question or analysis: ~1–5 units
- Detailed reports, larger data, or multi-step work: ~5–20 units, and occasionally more for long tasks
A more advanced model can use several times as many units for the same request.
Your plan includes a set number of Nimbus AI Units, and you can use them however you choose. Use lighter models to stretch your units further, or advanced models when the work calls for it.
