Airstudio Team Spotlight: Product Insights in Volume Photography Worfklows
Hear from Beck on the Impact of Airstudio for Volume Photography Studios
Around Airstudio, I'm known as "The Data Guy." I'm your primary point of contact for data imports, exports, and migrations from legacy systems into Airstudio.
Beyond that, I work as a solutions architect, partnering with studios before, during, and after onboarding to find where issues crop up and design the right fix. Sometimes that means working directly in your environment; other times it means designing larger platform changes and building them with our development team.
However the challenge shows up, my goal is the same: make your move to Airstudio smooth, and keep it working for you long after you're up and running.

What's a "simple" request from studios that's actually complex to solve?
The job form. It's where every job starts, so as studios ramp up scheduling for the summer and fall seasons, it's one of the most requested areas for changes. From the outside, it looks like a simple interface update. Under the hood, that one form spans more than 45,000 lines of code and touches nearly every table in Airstudio, so every change has to keep the entire system connected.
This season we took that challenge head on. After extensive review and testing, we rolled out a new quick job form that gets a job into the system in about two minutes, without disrupting any of the connections running underneath. The complexity is still there below the surface; studios just don't have to feel it.
What do studios consistently underestimate when trying to scale?
Data integrity. It's the unglamorous side of the business; nobody loves staring at a spreadsheet. But when you grow from 50 to 150 to 1,500 schools, keeping everyone on the same page becomes both more critical and more difficult. Consistent naming conventions, data entry standards, universal workflows, and clear formatting expectations are what ensure accuracy and accountability across every job. Airstudio is built with that scale in mind, which makes it much easier to grow without things falling apart along the way. When your data is clean, everything runs faster and smoother, and that's when studios really start to see what the platform can do.
What's changed most for studios this season?
This season brought a wave of new studios, including some large enterprise operations, and their feedback shaped a lot of what we shipped. A few highlights:
Staff scheduling: a new weekly view shows every job and every available employee at once, with drag-and-drop assignment to slot staff into roles in seconds.
Quick job form: a guided setup that gets a job into the system in about two minutes. The full form is always there when you need more detail; hit edit on any job to open it.
Nimbus reporting: ask Nimbus, our AI assistant, for a report on just about anything in Airstudio. It queries your real data, runs the analysis, and returns organized, ready-to-use results.
What are you excited to build or improve next?
With this much added in a short time, it's time to go back through all of it with a fine-toothed comb and sharpen the details that make the day-to-day feel effortless.
A big part of that is support. We've added informational tooltips throughout the system and a new studio setup guide that walks admins through every detail of getting up and running. Nimbus is also expanding beyond reporting into in-app guidance, helping users work through processes and answering setup and usage questions as they come up. Keep an eye out for upcoming webinars on these new features as well.
The power has always been there. What I'm excited to focus on now is making sure every studio can tap into it as easily as possible.
